Scope and content
A young man holds a sign in a picket line in front of a liquor store in Portland, Oregon. He is protesting the sale of products from the Schenley Company in Delano, California, where grape pickers are on strike. His sign reads, "Don't spend your drinking dollar for poverty." An American flag is visible inside the window of the liquor store. Photographs from this series were published in the Valley Migrant League's Opportunity News on March 4, 1966.
