A note written on a print from this negative reads, "A 'Dutch Flopper'. - windmill built in 1867 by John Sayers to pump water from a shallow well for his livestock The mill has been running continuously for 66 years and has worn out four pitcher mouth pumps, and is still going strong. The mill is 4 miles south of Brownsville, Or, on the Cascade Highway J. D. Drake"
