A teacher teaches English to a row of Russian girls sitting in class at the St. Paul Grade School in St. Paul, Oregon. They are among 22 Russian students who recently enrolled at the school. Several of the girls touch their hair. According to an accompanying article in the Valley Migrant League's Opportunity News, the children are learning how to say, "This is my hair" in English. Photographs from this series were published in the Valley Migrant League's Opportunity News on September 24, 1965.
