Biographical history
Lynne Etta Scott, nee Linnie Etta Warner, was born in Hooper, Nebraska, in 1886. Her family came to Oregon in 1898, and settled in Brownsville around 1900. In 1904, she and David Sterling were married; they later had two children. She divorced in the 1930s, and in 1944, she and Walter Lee Scott were married. Scott was a teacher in Cottage Grove, where she had moved during her first marriage. She died in 1978.

Reel 3. This oral history interview with Lynne E. Scott was conducted by an unidentified woman in May 1978. In this interview, Scott shares her memories of life in Brownsville, Oregon, from 1900 to 1909. She talks about her education and her recreational activities. She describes the houses her family lived in, and downtown Brownsville. She talks about her marriage to David Sterling and about their life in Cottage Grove. She also speaks about her family's journey from Nebraska to Oregon in 1898.
