A hand-drawn map of the Willamette Valley drawn by Marshall B. Burk. Burk was the first postmaster for the post office in South Yamhill which was established July 6, 1852. The map shows roads, mail routes, and post offices. Relief is shown by hachures.

A watercolor sketch map of Astoria, Oregon in 1846. Burr Osborn drew the map from memory in 1913. Osborn served on the USS Shark under the command of Lt. Neil M. Howison. He survived the shipwreck of the Shark near Clatsop Beach on September 10, 1846 and spent several months in Astoria . Copies of his letters sent with the map detailing his reminiscences of the event and his time in Astoria were reprinted in the Oregon Historical Quarterly in 1913, v. 14, no. 4, p. 355-365.
