Scope and content
Full-length portrait of United States Secretary of War Patrick J. Hurley (left) and Brigadier General Paul A. Wolf, commandant of the Army post in Vancouver, Washington. They are facing front and standing at the bottom of the steps outside a building. The photograph was probably taken on August 6, 1931, when Hurley visited Portland and the Vancouver base on his way to the Philippines. The text “Gen Wolfe [sic] + Hurley” is written on the negative and is visible on the left side of the image. See related image Nos. 371N1234, 371N1235, 371N1236, and 371N1926.
