Scope and content

Portrait of a woman standing in front of a tree. She is holding a fan and is wearing a kimono costume and headpiece. The photograph is probably related to a dance pageant titled “Festival of the Cherry Blossoms” or “Legend of the Cherry Blossoms” that was performed at Laurelhurst Park in Portland in August 1930. The name “Ruby Asquith” is written on the negative and is faintly visible on the left side of the image.
