Uncased tintype featuring a group portrait of 8 men gathered around a table, drinking beers and smoking pipes. Two wear military uniforms. Handwritten note on the sleeve reads, "Tentative ID: Center Back: Ex-Col. Reuben F. Maury, 1st Oregon Cavalry, at right, in uniform Lt. D. C. Underwood & Lt. F. B. White." [These 3 men are also pictured in an article titled, "The First Oregon Cavalry and the Oregon Central Military Road Survey of 1865," published in the Oregon Historical Quarterly (Vol. 60, No. 1, p. 94).]

A teen boy stands behind them, wearing a hat and smoking a long pipe. Legacy collection records indicate they are named Joseph Charles, Polly and Jennie, and that they are the children of Ben Holladay and Noltey Ann (Calvert) Holladay. Records also indicate this was taken circa 1867. The same children are pictured in OrgLot1414_0246S077.
