The photograph may have been taken on June 12, 1942, when the festival court visited the Lambert Gardens in Portland. The Oregon Journal published a story about the court’s visit to the gardens on Saturday, June 13, 1942. The number 3 is written on the negative and is faintly visible in the lower left corner of the image.
