Seth Luelling house in Milwaukie

The home of orchardist Seth Luelling, at 10966 McLoughlin Blvd, before it was demolished in 1940. Luelling is known for developing the Bing Cherry. In front of the two story home is a cut tree, and sign that reads “Milwaukie Shopping Center, Lowest Chain Store Prices, Get Them All at One Stop, Milwaukie Grocery” and “Milwaukie Hardware” (negative 1 of 8).

Luelling Orchard apple trees

Two of the surviving apple trees from the original Luelling orchard planted in 1847. In 1955 only 26 of the original 500 trees still produced fruit. Three toddler-aged grandchildren of current property owner, Louise Lavaghetto, stand at the base of the trees (negative 2 of 8).

Birthday cake for Red's Coach Inn

A cake decorated by Hurtis Hadley. The cake is decorated with white frosting. There is a red stage coach drawn in the center of the cake and red lettering that reads, "Happy Birthday Red / Red's Coach Inn." A handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads, "Hurtis decorated this cake for owner Red of Red Coach Inn restaurant."

A cake decorated by Hurtis Hadley. The cake is decorated with white frosting. There is a paddle boat drawn in the center of the cake and blue lettering which reads, "The Bank of Milwaukie." A handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads, "Bank of Milwaukie anniversary cake logo. Decorated by Hurtis, Milwaukie Pastry Kitchen."

Tiered celebration cake

A four tiered celebration cake baked by Hurtis Hadley for the celebration of his 25th wedding anniversary with Dorothy Hadley. The cake is a white cake with pastel pink details in the piping. There is a small fountain between the first and second tiers and a decorative cake topper on the fourth tier that has silver bells and the letters 25 surrounded by laurels.

Clipping from The Oregonian published January 10, 1979, about Indoor Billboard of Oregon, a company that sold door mats with custom branding to businesses in the Portland, Oregon, metro area. A photograph at the top of the article features Kass Cochran, the company's general manager, standing inside the front door of the Milwaukie Pastry Kitchen in Milwaukie, Oregon. A custom door mat on the floor shows a logo of a Black man dressed in chef whites holding a steaming loaf of bread. The logo on the mat reads, "Put a little soul in your roll."
