Farm Products of Goose Lake Valley, Oregon

Photographic postcard of a pile of fresh produce. Potatoes are delicately balanced atop squash, cabbage, and other produce. Handwritten label on the bottom of the print reads, "Products of Goose Lake Valley Or., Wendt Photo." One cabbage is labeled "18.5#" while another piece of produce is labeled "26#." Handwritten note on the back of the postcard reads, "We do this yearly for the fun of the thing. Guess what we can do when we get down to business."

Doug Houston holds his rifle and stands in front of the post office in Paisley, Oregon. He looks at the camera and smiles. A couple of people stand behind him, outside the post office. Houston used this rifle to help capture one of the men who robbed this post office. This photograph was published in the Oregon Journal on October 13, 1957 (negative 2 of 12).
