Susan Seyl, an Oregon Historical Society librarian, was also present.

In this interview, Miller discusses her family background, including her father's experiences homesteading in Oregon, interactions between her ancestors and Native people, and her grandparents' overland journey to Oregon with Sam Barlow in 1845. She talks about her early life in eastern Oregon and Washington, and about the relationship between white emigrants and Native people.

Reel 2. This oral history interview with John R. Leach was conducted by Jean S. Whitford from February 22-23, 1968. The interview was conducted in two sessions. In the second interview session, conducted on February 23, 1968, Leach discusses about frontier life, folk medicine, and his childhood and early life in Eastern Oregon. He closes the interview by describing his adventures with Lilla Leach.

He also discusses the history of the Leach family and their journey west to Oregon.
