Young man holds sign at picket of liquor store in Portland, Oregon

A young man holds a sign in a picket line in front of a liquor store in Portland, Oregon. He is protesting the sale of products from the Schenley Company in Delano, California, where grape pickers are on strike. His sign reads, "Don't spend your drinking dollar for poverty." An American flag is visible inside the window of the liquor store. Photographs from this series were published in the Valley Migrant League's Opportunity News on March 4, 1966.

Two-year-old Larry Mills sits on the ground next to his black dog named Mutt. They sit on a rug in front of a sofa. A doll lies on the ground near Mills. The caption on the negative sleeve reads, "Larry Mills, age 2, and dog, Mutt, who went along when Larry wandered from home at 1223 N.E. Killingsworth at 5am - dog's license tag provided clue to boys identity" (negative 2 of 3).

Wrecked schooner in Pacific City

Donegan Reeder Wiggins poses next to ship wreckage on Cannon Beach, Haystack rock is visible in the background. An inscription on the photo notes "Remain of wrecked schooner, Pacific City 1921. Captain D.W. Miles aided in the rescue of the crew, about 1892." This appears to be the same scene as OrgLot19_B2_043.

Wreckage of Plane Crash

A group of men investigate the wreckage of a plane crash in the field of the Doty & Doerner tree nursery about 15 miles south of Portland. The plane is wrecked and completely destroyed. There is an orchard in the background. This plane was stolen from the Beaverton Airport by 2 young men, Jerald Wayne Hallett and Richard Monroe, Jr. Both died in the crash (negative 2 of 10).
