Young man holds sign at picket of liquor store in Portland, Oregon

A young man holds a sign in a picket line in front of a liquor store in Portland, Oregon. He is protesting the sale of products from the Schenley Company in Delano, California, where grape pickers are on strike. His sign reads, "Don't spend your drinking dollar for poverty." An American flag is visible inside the window of the liquor store. Photographs from this series were published in the Valley Migrant League's Opportunity News on March 4, 1966.

Two-year-old Larry Mills sits on the ground next to his black dog named Mutt. They sit on a rug in front of a sofa. A doll lies on the ground near Mills. The caption on the negative sleeve reads, "Larry Mills, age 2, and dog, Mutt, who went along when Larry wandered from home at 1223 N.E.
