Photograph showing three people participating in a capping ceremony for Red Cross volunteer nurses’ aides at Marylhurst College on May 10, 1944. The person at center, who may be Colleen Carroll, is having a cap placed on her head and a pin fastened to her smock by the women on either side of her, who are unidentified. The civil defense insignia for nurses’ aides is visible on the sleeve of the woman on the right. The note “Marylhurst College nurses bldgs 5/10/44” is written on the negative sleeve.
