Cased photograph featuring a portrait of 2 men and 2 women on a cliff in front of Niagara Falls. The 2 women are seated in the middle while the 2 men stand on either side of them. Handwritten note on the envelope reads, "Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Atkinson at Niagra (sic) Falls in 1865." A second, typed note reads, "Atkinson went East for the first time in the 1850's, but Mrs. Atkinson did not go with him. They both went East in 1865; from NY to Joliet, Ill, and back to NY via Dartmouth College, in New Hampshire. Probably visited Niagara Falls on this trip. So 1865 seems to be the right date for this photo." [Collection records do not indicate which couple are the Atkinsons. The second couple is unidentified.] Case is missing and has been replaced with archival board.
