Typed note enclosed with the image reads, "Mrs. Lucinda Sumner Hadlock, a pioneer of 1852, and children. Taken by Buchtel, Portland, O. T., 1856. In later life this lady was known as Mrs. Taylor." Case is made of leather. Case cover missing and replaced with archival board during conservation.
