A cropped version of this photograph was one of nine that were published on Page 4 of the Oregon Journal on August 4, 1934, under the headline “President Roosevelt Visits One of Administration’s Big Projects.” This photograph had the following caption: “The presidential party entering the area set apart for officials connected with the dam ceremony.” The images were part of a two-page photo spread included in the newspaper’s coverage of Roosevelt’s visit.
