Scope and content

Photograph, taken from the rear, showing a pair of harnessed mules facing a group of people and a car on a road, probably the Columbia River Highway. Snowbanks line the road on either side, and an unidentified man at left is standing on deep snow obstructing the road. The photograph may have been taken during efforts to clear the highway in February 1922. Mules were used to haul away blocks of snow and ice.
