This plate is part of an album of Watkin’s New Series photographs originally owned by Charles H. Prescott, manager of the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Co.

This building is likely part of the health resort which operated at the hot springs of East Lake from 1915-1923. Handwriting on the back of the postcard reads, "One of the buildings at hot springs resort at East Lake. Looking northward across East Lake. It is about 2 miles across. View taken in early morning."

Two young women stand next to a cabin at the newly opened Camp Howard near Corbett, operated by the Catholic Youth Organization. Both carry towels or aprons, as they appear to be having a conversation, with one woman standing in the doorway of the building.
