The man is probably Reed Smoot, who served as a United States senator from Utah and was an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The woman at left is probably his wife, Alice Sheets Smoot. The woman at right is unidentified. Note: The name “Smoot” is written on the negative for a similar image, No. 372A0540.
