Edward Leavy (1929- ) was born near Aurora, Oregon. In 1953, Leavy graduated from Notre Dame Law School. He spent a few years in private practice from 1953 to 1954. He worked as deputy district attorney, a district court judge, circuit court judge for Lane County, Oregon and Justice pro tempore Oregon Supreme Court. He also was U.S. District Magistrate for U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon from 1976 to 1984. He was nominated by Ronald Reagan in 1984 for the U.S. District Court of Oregon and in 1987 he became a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ancer Lee Haggerty was born in Vanport, Oregon, in 1944. He attended the University of Oregon and graduated in 1966. He enrolled in the Marine Corps Infantry Officer Training program while at the University of Oregon. In 1968, he was called to active duty in Vietnam, where he was wounded by shrapnel to the arm. He was awarded the Silver Star. After his discharge from the military, he attended the University of California Hastings College of the Law. He earned his juris doctorate in 1973 and passed the Oregon bar that same year. He began his legal career in as a law clerk for the Metropolitan Public Defender in Portland, serving until 1977. He then practiced law at the Schwabe, Williamson, and Wyatt law firm. In 1983, he and Judith Ann Blair were married; Blair had one child, and together they later had two more children. Haggerty served as a judge on the Multnomah County District Court from 1989 to 1990, on the Multnomah County Circuit Court from 1990 to 1993, and on the U.S. District Court of Oregon from 1993 to 2014. He served as chief judge of that court from 2002 to 2009.

Owen Chase "Red" Dunning was born in Hoquiam, Washington, in 1904. He was an accomplished musician and played in numerous orchestras in the Portland, Oregon, area, including Herman Kenin's Multnomah Hotel Dance Orchestra and the Portland Symphony Orchestra. In 1927, he and Alice Eudora Mower were married; they later had two children. In 1929, he became assistant orchestra director to Misch Pelz for the radio station KOIN, and later orchestra director in 1944. He also had several television shows in the 1950s. After he retired in 1969, Dunning focused on nature photography. He died in 1982.

Barbara Vorse Fealy, nee Barbara Bertha Vorse, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1903. In 1925, she earned a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Illinois. She worked as a landscape architect in Denver, Colorado, and in Utah. In 1934, she and Martin Hoag were married; they later had one child. After Hoag died in 1935, she and Willam Fealy were married in 1946; they later had one child. Shortly after their marriage, the Fealys relocated to Oregon and Barbara Fealy worked as a landscape architect in the Pacific Northwest. Her Oregon works include Caitlin-Gabel School, the Leach Botanical Garden, Timberline Lodge, Sokol Blosser Winery, and Waverley Country Club. She died in 2000.

Thomas Richard Getman was born in Luverne, Minnesota, in 1941. He graduated from Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois, in 1963. After college, he worked with Young Life ministries to establish education programs in New England until 1976. He earned a master's degree in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He interned for U.S. Senator Mark Hatfield, becoming his legislative director and specializing in African foreign policy from 1978 to 1985. He then joined World Vision, a humanitarian aid organization, in 1985.
